Our Cattle Baron Ball honorees are comprised of community leaders competing to raise funds leading up to the event. These candidates serve as an extension of the American Cancer Society to raise funds and awareness to help end cancer as we know it, for everyone. Each person takes a leadership role in the American Cancer Society’s mission by committing to raise a minimum of $5,000 for Ascension Parish Cattle Baron’s. If you have additional questions please contact Katie Decker at 985-232-7458 or [email protected].

DonateMy mother-in-law passed away from cancer in 2016. My best friend had cancer a few years ago and is in remission. Cancer is everywhere and I firmly believe in making a patient’s tough experience easier and more affordable anyway possible. Cancer patients should not have to go through this alone and should not have to pay an absorbent amount of money to fight a disease.
DR. CLAY RUNFALO
Ochsner Health
DonateCancer touches each one of us in some way, shape, or form. Personally, I’ve had several friends and family members who have fought various types of cancer. Professionally, as a physician, I have diagnosed far too many of my patients with cancer. While the researchers work on a cure, there are so many ACS volunteers striving to help make life easier for those fighting this battle. This event is just one way I can support them.

DonateHaving been affected by cancer through friends and family members, diagnoses and treatments, and battles won and lost, I am passionate about giving cancer the boot. My goal as a baron is to raise awareness about this terrible disease, to raise money for the battle, and to find treatments and cures.

DonateI would like to live in a world where cancer is no longer a threat. With fundraising efforts like the Cattle Barons Ball, proceeds go to groundbreaking research to find cures and improve treatments for patients suffering from this terrible disease. I appreciate the ability of ACS to personally interact with patients to provide support and knowledge, during such a difficult and unsure time of their life.
KATHY ACHEE
Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute
DonateI have had close family members pass away from Cancer and my daughter “Madison” is an oncology RN at Manning Family Children’s Hospital in NOLA. I plan to grow awareness of the American Cancer Society and the importance of raising money for research so there is a decrease in the number of people who battle cancer each year.
KEWANDA JOSHUA
DonateI support the American Cancer Society because I believe that cancer has affected all humankind in some way, shape or form. It may be someone’s mother, father, sister, brother, niece, nephew or friend. So, we all need to fight for a cure and help each other through our difficult times.
LANCE MCPHAIL
